A familiar face has returned to the New England Patriots on the practice squad.
New England signed interior offensive lineman Jake Eldrenkamp to the group of 16 on Wednesday, according to Pro Football Focus’ Doug Kyed.
Eldrenkamp, 27, previously reached a futures contract with the Patriots in February 2019. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Washington Huskies product would be waived during organized team activities three months later and claimed by the Indianapolis Colts, with whom he appeared in two games last season on special teams.
Originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Eldrenkamp has also made stops with the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns.
The former first-team All-Pac-12 selection was hosted by the Patriots on a visit Tuesday as rookie center Drake Jackson joined the practice squad and veteran kicker Nick Folk joined the active roster.
The New Orleans Saints visit Gillette Stadium for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.
