The New England Patriots began preparations for the New Orleans Saints with a 52-man roster available.
Kyle Van Noy returned on Wednesday while Matt Judon did not participate in practice due to a knee issue. The latter outside linebacker has recorded six tackles, three quarterback hits and one sack since the calendar flipped to September for New England.
Here’s the first injury report heading into Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- LB Matt Judon (knee)
Saints
- C Erik McCoy (calf)
Judon played 68 percent of the defensive snaps in New England’s 25-6 win over the New York Jets last Sunday at MetLife Stadium. McCoy, New Orleans’ starting center, has not played since injuring his calf five offensive snaps into Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- RB Damien Harris (finger)
- OT Trent Brown (calf)
Saints
- G Calvin Throckmorton (knee)
- DE Payton Turner (elbow)
- LB Pete Werner (hamstring)
- CB Marshon Lattimore (hand)
- S C.J. Gardner-Johnson (knee)
- S P.J. Williams (back)
Harris practiced in a partial capacity due to a finger ailment. New England’s lead running back turned 16 carries into 62 yards and a touchdown against New York. It was a visit that Brown did not make for the Patriots. The right tackle’s calf strain saw him downgraded from questionable on the eve of Week 2. Brown had exited on the initial drive of the opener against the Miami Dolphins and did not return to practice until last Friday. On New Orleans’ side, six were limited on Wednesday, including a trio in the defensive backfield.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- LB Kyle Van Noy (throat)
Saints
- DE Tanoh Kpassagnon (calf)
Van Noy notched a sack and a tipped pass in his first game back with the Patriots. He then made his way back to the practice fields on Wednesday after being sidelined all of last week by a throat issue. The veteran linebacker did so as a full-go participant.
