The first injury report of the 2021 NFL season arrived Wednesday for the New England Patriots. And on it reside three members of the active roster as preparations for the Miami Dolphins continue, including wide receiver Nelson Agholor and cornerback Jalen Mills.
Both March signings and ex-Philadelphia Eagles draft picks were listed as limited for New England due to ankle injuries.
Here are the rest of the initial listings heading into Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET opener at Gillette Stadium.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- WR Nelson Agholor (ankle)
- OT Yodny Cajuste (hamstring)
- CB Jalen Mills (ankle)
Dolphins
- WR Preston Williams (foot)
- OT Liam Eichenberg (thigh)
A hamstring ailment saw Cajuste join the pair of projected Patriots starters as a limited participant on Wednesday. The 2019 third-round tackle out of West Virginia spent the past two campaigns on the non-football injury list and injured reserve before securing a 53-man roster spot with a strong August. Two Dolphins also practiced in a partial capacity.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- no players listed
Dolphins
- RB Salvon Ahmed (back)
- WR DeVante Parker (shoulder)
- WR Albert Wilson (quad)
- LB Elandon Roberts (knee)
- S Clayton Fejedelem (shoulder)
Rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson from Oklahoma went without a designation on Wednesday as New England posted perfect practice attendance. The league’s preseason leader with 217 rushing yards and five touchdowns suffered a dislocated thumb in practice last week, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, and is full speed ahead for Week 1. As is a former Patriots and current Dolphins team captain in Roberts.
