Their return to the NFL playoffs was a short one for the New England Patriots. The team of head coach Bill Belichick was blown out in the wild card playoff round, losing to the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 47-17.
The loss is one of the most lopsided in franchise history, and a bitter end to what has been a promising season at times. New England peaked too soon, however, and after winning seven straight in October and November, now lost four out of its final five games down the stretch in the regular season and playoffs.
The Patriots’ season is therefore now over, with the team heading into the offseason with plenty of questions. Whether or not they will be able to answer all of them remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the Bills are the better football team right now, with New England’s margin of error too small at this point in the process.
Before looking forward, however, a look back at that game. Welcome to our Patriots vs. Bills coverage.
