The New England Patriots’ first appearance on Thanksgiving football ended in disappointment. The team of head coach Bill Belichick was defeated by the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 33-26.
For the first three quarters, the game was a track meet with the two teams exchanging scores and seeing the lead jump back and forth. New England, however, ran out of gas down the stretch and saw the Vikings score 10 unanswered points to take the victory — all while the Patriots faltered in what turned into a scoreless fourth quarter for them.
As a result of the Week 12 loss, the Patriots have now dropped to 6-5 on the season and possibly out of the AFC playoff picture as well.
