For the first time all season, the New England Patriots find themselves beyond .500. With their defense and special teams dominating, they were able to beat the visiting Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 26-3.
The storyline of the day was defense, with New England’s in particular coming to play. The unit surrendered just 121 yards on offense for an average Colts gain of just 2 yards per play, while also sacking quarterback Sam Ehlinger nine times. The cherry on top was a Jonathan Jones pick-six in the fourth quarter to finalize the score.
Speaking of Jones, he also had a blocked punt that helped set up a New England touchdown — the only one scored by the offense all day. The game, after all, was another struggle for Mac Jones and company.
At the end of the day, though, they still did enough to come away with a victory.
