The San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) will be facing off with the Seattle Seahawks (+3.5) to kick off Week 15. The game is in Seattle so the Seahawks will have the 12th man behind them in what feels like a must-win.
San Francisco comes in with seventh-round rookie quarterback Brock Purdy at the helm. He has been impressive since he took over as the starter, but will be on the road for the first time. He will also be without the dynamic Deebo Samuel as he tends to an injury. They still should be able to move the ball with the likes of Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.
The 49ers defense is special and features stars at all three levels. The most dynamic of them is Nick Bosa, who is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. He will get after the quarterback and likely help force big-time turnovers.
Seattle has a pretty dynamic offense led by Geno Smith, but will need to establish the run with Kenneth Walker III in order to open up the field. If he can get going, Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf will see coverages with limited safety help and get loose over the top.
The Seahawks defense is young and will have a major boost with the home crowd behind it, which should allow the young players to feed off of the energy. Tariq Woolen will be all over the field and likely be involved in some sort of turnover like he has all season. Seattle’s defense will be the reason this game is close.
The 49ers are 3.5-point favorites according to the oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook. Let’s take a look at the Pats Pulpit staff’s picks for the game:
Player Prop of the Night
D.K. Metcalf Over 65.5 Receiving Yards (-115): This game is likely the biggest of the year for Seattle and the stars are going to show up. Among those is Metcalf, who is a freak of nature and a mismatch nightmare for any defense. Look for the Seahawks to get him involved a lot tonight and go over 65.5 receiving yards.
