53 Man Roster Prediction 2.0

QB: Mac Jones, Brian Hoyer, Bailey Zappe

Zappe was a pick that I did not see coming, I thought the Pats might pick up Sam Howell if they were going to take a QB, but after watching his highlights I can see why Bill chose him. He plays very similar to Mac Jones, and if he develops well, Bill might be able to trade him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Or if Mac Jones were to get injured, now they have better insurance than Stidham and Hoyer.

Mac Jones is going to have a big year, mark my words! Hoyer will continue to be the QB coach and mentor for Mac!

RB: Damien Harris, J.J. Taylor, Rhamondre Stevenson, Pierre Strong Jr.

Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson will continue to be the bruiser running backs, while Strong Jr. alongside Montgomery, will be the pass catching backs. Harris is entering the last year of his contract, and it will be curious to see whether or not he gets extended.

J.J. Taylor and Kevin Harris will duke it out for the last spot on the roster, but I give the slight edge to Taylor because he is entering his third season, and Harris is a rookie. Harris will probably make the practice squad, and then develop into a starting role next year.

WR: Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, Ty Montgomery, DeVante Parker, Matthew Slater, Tyquan Thornton

Agholor, Bourne, and Meyers return and will hopefully continue to have an impact in the passing game. Agholor might end up having a big year, and it wouldn't surprise me if Bourne has a bigger year, and I am almost certain that Meyers will get a 3 or 4 year extension at some point this season!

Ty Montgomery will be a great signing. He has the tools to be a James White type of player, and will help the Pats in the short passing game, and in the Special Teams department.

DeVante Parker is a player I am looking forward to watching. He wanted to be here, and he will work his tail off, and hopefully get good chemistry with Mac, if he can stay healthy!

Thornton will be on the squad for sure this year, but he will more than likely be limited in his snaps this season. Next year could be a big year for him though!

Tre Nixon will need a great preseason to make the roster, but he will definitely find his way onto the practice squad, same with Kristian Wilkerson

TE: Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Dalton Keene

Henry and Smith will be the main duo no doubt, and hopefully Smith breaks out this year. Dalton and Devin will compete for the last spot, but I give the edge to Dalton cause of his experience playing Fullback in College.

OL: David Andrews (C), Trent Brown (T), Michael Onwenu (G), Cole Strange (G), Isaiah Wynn (T), Yodny Cajuste (T), James Ferentz (C/G), Justin Herron (T), Yasir Durant (G),

Andrews, Brown, Onwenu, Strange, and Wynn will no doubt be the starters, barring an injury, come week 1. Bill has made sure that he has had 4 backup linemen the past few years, so I am going with Ferentz, Cajuste, Herron, and Durant as the backups due to the experience they have in this system,

DL: Christian Barmore, Carl Davis, Davon Godchaux, Lawrence Guy, LaBryan Ray, Deatrich Wise Jr.

Barmore will lead a Defensive Line that will be hungry this year! LaBryan Ray is the only new addittion that I see making the team, and he could end up being a great developmental piece going forward.

LB: Ja'Whaun Bentley (MLB), Matthew Judon (OLB), Cameron McGrone (OLB), Raekown McMillan (MLB), Ronnie Perkins (OLB), Josh Uche (OLB), Mack Wilson (OLB)

A faster and much younger LB group. I am really excited to watch this group, and I see this group being much better than last year! Perkins, Uche, and Wilson are the ones I am espicially looking forward to watching!

CB: Justin Bethel, Malcolm Butler, Jack Jones, Jonathan Jones, Jalen Mills, Terrance Mitchell

While losing J.C.Jackson will be huge, I still see this group being an underrated group heading into next year. Luckily the return of Jonathan Jones will be a critical factor going forward, as will the additions of Malcolm Butler, Terrance Mitchell, Jack Jones and Marcus Jones (Once he comes off the PUP list). This is going to be a fun group to watch!

S: Kyle Dugger (SS), Devin McCourty (FS), Jabrill Peppers (SS), Adrian Phillips (SS), Cody Davis (FS)

No doubt the best group that the Pats have on defense! Dugger is coming off of a great year, Phillips had a breakout year and got a well deserved contract extension last year, and McCourty continues to be the ageless wonder. If Peppers can stay healthy, this group will be very dangerous! And they can play CB also which will help big time!

ST: Jake Bailey (P), Joe Cardona (LS), Nick Folk (K)

Bailey may lose the starting job, but Jake Julien would have to have a big training camp/Preseason.

Nick Folk got his extension, and he will hopefully continue to put up big numbers!

Ross Reiter could steal the job, but Joe Cardona is more experienced!

James White (RB), Chasen Hines (G), Marcus Jones (CB), Andrew Stueber (G)

James White will be taken off the PUP list after week 6, and he will play a major factor once he returns!

Marcus Jones will be activated as soon as he is healthy, and I am looking forward to watching him develop as a CB, and potential Punt Returner!

Chasen Hines and Andrew Stueber will be sidelined this year, and then they will be activated next season as backup linemen, or maybe one of them will take over Wynn's job next year!

Daniel Ekuale

He will probably be put on the Practice Squad again this year, and activated for a couple of games!

So excited for this season, even more so than last year. This team is going to be underrated IMO, and very fun to watch!!!
