The Pats now remind me of the team I watched for 30 years before Bill

I started watching as a kid in 1974. Have seen almost every game since. What I remember from all those years is a team that broke your heart because they were always close to turning the corner. They always seemed competitive, but they found new ways to lose every week. Which is what happens when the coaching is week. This seemed to e solved with BB's situation football teaching.

But this team, and really it's been this way since Brady left and it is getting worse each season, can't get out of its own way. I'm no NFL coach, but when I see a lot of penalties, or bad decisions at key junctures, or weird, rare, catastrophic plays, I attribute that to lousy coaching.

This mess was poorly coached all year. Today it not only gave up 2 TD's on kickoffs, which is unheard of, but when it came back within striking distance, they attempted a squib kick and it put it out of bounds. This led to the next Bills TD.

I noticed that Bill decided to leave Schooler, really their top special teams coverage player this year, off the active list. Good call, Bill.

GOATS don't put out product like this. Sorry, they don't. I'm certainly not saying Bill is a bad coach. But there's really nothing special about BB when he doesn't have TB 12. I don't want that to be true, I just want to contend again.

You might argue, "well, they played well today, they were in the game if not for those mistakes".

Sure. But that's what we said most years in the 70's, 80's and 90s.
