2023 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

No trades

1. Bears: Will Anderson Jr: EDGE: Alabama (Bears rebuild their defensive line with the best player in the draft, according to some.)

2. Texans: Bryce Young: QB: Alabama (Texans go for the upgrade at QB, and land the more versatile option in Bryce Young.)

3. Cardinals: Jalen Carter: DT: Georgia (New HC Gannon will try and revamp their defense, so he goes with the big guy from Georgia.)

4. Colts: C.J. Stroud: QB: Ohio State (The position that needs a long term answer immediately for this team. They cannot keep up these one year rentals, so they pick up the highly touted QB from Ohio State.)

5. Seahawks: Myles Murphy: EDGE: Clemson (Pete Carroll tries to get the Seahawks' defense back to the force it used to be, so they take the EDGE from Clemson.)

6. Lions: Tyree Wilson: EDGE: Texas Tech (The biggest weakness for the Lions last year was their DL, and after they just extended their DC, they will look to try and bolster their front 7.)

7. Raiders: Paris Johnson Jr.: OT: Ohio State (This team does need a QB, but their GM said that they would not have an immediate answer at QB this year. They will probably sign either Jimmy G or Jacoby Brissett, who McDaniels is familiar with, and try and fix the OL on this team quickly.)

8. Falcons: Bryan Bresee: DT: Clemson (Falcons have so many needs right now, including QB, and while it wouldn't surprise me if they do end up trading for Lamar Jackson, I am willing to bet that if they stick with their first round pick, so use it to try and bolster their DL.)

9. Panthers: Will Levis: QB: Kentucky (The Panthers have a major need for a QB. The only QB they have under contract is Matt Corral, but they need a true long term option, so they go with a top QB, and then are set for the long term.)

10. Eagles: Christian Gonzalez: CB: Oregon (The Eagles might end up losing James Bradberry, and if they do, they will take the CB from Oregon to help fill the void, plus Slay isn't getting any younger.)

11. Titans: Broderick Jones: OT: Georgia (Titans have got to revamp their entire offense, and that starts with getting a new OL, that is going to protect whoever starts under center for them.)

12. Texans: Quentin Johnston: WR: TCU (After getting a new QB, the Texans snag a play maker for him, to ensure he has an opportunity to succeed.)

13. Jets: Brian Branch: S: Alabama (Their QB will either be Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr, and if it is Carr, the Jets will try and bolster their secondary even more with the addittion of Brian Branch.)

14. Patriots: Joey Porter: CB: Penn State (The Pats need a OL, and a WR, but with this mock draft, I see Belichick trying to make sure that the defense is set, especially in the secondary. Don't worry, my next mock drafts will involve trades, and it will be a lot more fun.)

15. Packers: Jordan Addison: WR: USC (Regardless if the QB is Jordan Love or Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have got to add another play maker on offense to help a struggling WR department.)

16. Commanders: Devon Witherspoon: CB: Illinois (Washington goes with fixing their secondary to get this defense back to how it was in 2020.)

17. Steelers: Peter Skoronski: OT: Northwestern (The Steelers go with an OL to help protect their QB of the future, Kenny Pickett.)

18. Lions: Cam Smith: CB: South Carolina (Lions continue to try and bolster their defense, with this move, the division could end up being theirs next year.)

19. Buccaneers: Bijan Robinson: RB: Texas (Kyle Trask has apparently been told that he is the starting QB in 2023, but the Bucs will end up drafting the RB from Texas to help take the pressure off of him going forward.)

20. Seahawks: Kelee Ringo: CB: Georgia (Seahawks go with the CB from Georgia to continue to try and bolster their defense.)

21. Chargers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba: WR: Ohio state (Chargers could go with an OL here, but they have got to give Herbert a new weapon that will help him keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.)

22. Ravens: Jalin Hyatt: WR: Tennessee (I am not sure what will end up happening with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, but they have got to get a WR after trading away their best one last year, and not addressing the matter at all last year.)

23. Vikings: Isaiah Foskey: EDGE: Notre Dame (Vikings improved under the leadership of Kevin O'Connell, now with the arrival of a new DC, the Vikings will attempt to bolster the front 7 with the addition of Isaiah Foskey.)

24. Jaguars: Trenton Simpson: LB: Clemson (Jaguars offense should be fine going forward, but they need to try and get the defense going again, enter Trenton Simpson.)

25. Giants: Josh Downs: WR: North Carolina (Via extension or Franchise Tag, Daniel Jones will be the starting QB for the Giants next year, and they have got to get him actual play makers on the offense to help take another step forward.)

26. Cowboys: Michael Mayer: TE: Notre Dame (I am really under the impression that the Cowboys will lose Dalton Schultz to the Free Agency marker, and if so, Jerry Jones will go with the best TE in the draft to help fill that void.)

27. Bills: Clark Phillips III: CB: Utah (The Bills need to address the secondary this offseason, and I believe that they will address it in the draft.)

28. Bengals: Lukas Van Ness: EDGE: Iowa (Bengals couldn't get any pressure on Mahomes in the playoffs, so they will try and bolster their front 7 with this pick.)

29. Saints: Anthony Richardson: QB: Florida (Richardson could be another case of Malik Willis, in terms of how he was hyped up last year as a 1st round pick, but ended up falling to the 3rd round. But at least Anthony Richardson is from a top tier college, and not Liberty. The Saints desperately need a long term answer at QB, and if he falls to them, this could be ideal for them.)

30. Eagles: O'Cyrus Torrence: OG: Florida (I have a brother who is an Eagles fan, so I know what I am talking about with this pick LOL. The Eagles will probably end up losing Jason Kelce to retirement, and Cam Jurgens will end up taking his spot. The Eagles need a new Right Guard, and this opportunity will be too good for them to pass up on.)

31. Chiefs: Jahmyr Gibbs: RB: Alabama (The Chiefs running game has always been a problem since they released Kareem Hunt, with this pick, the Chiefs might finally have a balanced attack on offense.)

Let me know what you think.

Next mock I do will involve trades, so it will be a lot more fun.
