Caleb Williams

Since I'm banned...I might as well start doing fanposts. So, I am go to start a new series called "2024 Draft Prospects" I'm going to look at 10 or so draft prospects for next year and do a rundown and scouting report on them. So, I am going to start with the obvious prospect...Caleb Williams

stats:

2022
2021
CMP ATT CMP% YDS AVG TD INT LNG RTG
333 500 66.6 4,537 9.1 42 5 75 168.5
136 211 64.5 1,912 9.1 21 4 67 169.6
Highly productive quarterback as you can see. Elite production across the board so, it is easy to see why he is considered the best prospect in next year's class.
Honors and Awards:
  • 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Williams, the record-setting Unanimous First Team All-American quarterback
  • 2022 holds the USC single-season record for total offense (4,919 yards), most touchdowns scored rushing and passing (52), passing completions (333), passes attempted (500), most passing yards gained (4,537), most touchdown passes thrown (42)
  • 2022 Maxwell Award
  • 2022 Walter Camp Award
  • 2022 Sporting News College Football Player of the Year
  • 2021 True Freshman All-American by ESPN, 247Sports, On3 and Pro Football Focus
  • 2021 semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year, Davey O’Brien National Quarterback
  • 2018 Gatorade District of Columbia Football Player of the Year and a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American
So, impressive list of awards. Broke a ton of records in his first year at USC.
Strenghts:
Arm Strength: This man can make any pass even when he is off balance. Throws a tight spiral and great deep ball. Has the Mahomes where he can make any pass
Great Accuracy: Pinpoint ball placement. He's not a guy that is going to force your Wr to make tough catches...He's accurate thrower of the football not like AR 15 at all.
https://youtu.be/E7EN1G4aIJg. Take a look at this just flicks this wrist and deadpoint on accuracy to Jerry Rice SR. Yes, Jerry Rice's son.
Escapability and Running Ability: He has the ability to escape any play and make moves in the open field. When the pocket breaks he is not a Mac Jones that will crumble under pressure he will get out of the pocket and make plays. Also, a living statue of the Heisman. Look at the stiff arm:

Pocket Presence: Knows how to maneuver the pocket. Knows when to release and when to take off.
A Simple Athlete: Just looking at the tape you can tell that a superb athlete. I would assume that he is going to test very well at the combine next year.
Weaknesses:
Does not have the best size at his position. Only stands 6'1 215 Ilbs. There is a worry that he could get easily hurt at the next level.
Cocky: Sometimes thinks he can make any play and it ends up be a turnover. Comes off a little arrogant in his interviews.
Fumble prone. Runs around loosely holding the football sometimes. Holds it with one hand on scrambles sometimes and he is prone to fumbles sometimes.
Outlook for Next Season.
He is definitely going first overall first next season. Generational prospect who is on the level of Lawerence and Luck coming out of college. Unless he is total garbage next season or has some major off the field concerns there is a 100% percent chance he will go first overall next year.
Player Comp: A short Mahomes with Kyler Murray running ability.
Team Fits.
Vikings: They will need a qb next season and they have a Offensive minded coach in Kevin O'connell. They also have his former college wr in Jordan Addison. And of course, they have Justin Jefferson. However, the Vikings would have to tank next season to get him.
Raiders: Jimmy G is not the answer for the Raiders. They have an offensive minded coach in Josh Mcdaniels though he might get fired. They Adams, Meyers and Renfrow so, he would be surrounded by weapons. Also, throw in Josh Jacobs.
ANY TEAM: This kid is so good that he can go to any team and he would be the perfect fit.
