The New England Patriots may have lost their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, but there was a lot to feel good about coming out of the 25-20 defeat. One such positive was the play of quarterback Mac Jones.
The former first-round draft pick finished the game going 35-for-54 for 316. yards with three touchdowns and an interception. And while he was unable to complete the comeback, there were a lot of encouraging moments.
It is therefore no surprise that fans are also feeling good about the third-year man. As a look at the latest SB Nation Reacts survey shows, 82 percent of Patriots fans think Jones is headed in the right direction.

The 15th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, Jones followed a promising rookie season with a challenging sophomore campaign under first-time de facto co-offensive coordinators Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. As a consequence of the problems he and the entire offense had in 2022, Bill O’Brien was hired as the team’s official OC and quarterbacks coach this offseason.
