2020 is a year unlike any other in recent history, with the Coronavirus pandemic impacting life all over the globe. The National Football League is no exception: Covid-19 is the dominating story, and the New England Patriots have also been touched by the virus this year.
Not only did the team have to send eight of its players on the newly created Coronavirus reserve list at one point — including the three starters quarterback Cam Newton, guard Shaq Mason and cornerback Stephon Gilmore — it also had to adapt its 2020 team photo. The Patriots shared the latest version on social media on Saturday, and as can be seen it perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this year.
Not only are players, coaches and ownership all wearing masks, they are also spaced apart to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
2020 has been weird so far, but the Patriots are still trying to make the most out of it.
