One day after Cam Newton officially signed his one-year contract with the New England Patriots, video emerged of the veteran quarterback working out with one of his pass catchers for what looked like the first time this offseason: second-year man N’Keal Harry joined Newton at the UCLA facilities in Los Angeles on Wednesday to work on some routes together and get a feel for each other.
The video of the workout was shot by John Aguero, who runs a production company called EBA Production. According to the Boston Globe, the workout lasted for about two hours and included Newton and Harry going through plays from the Patriots’ offensive playbook.

The workout was not the first of its kind for Newton: the 31-year-old, who arrived in New England after nine years as the Carolina Panthers’ starting quarterback, took the same field with fellow Patriots wide receiver Mohamed Sanu last week. Now, Harry has joined the mix — another pass catcher who is expected to play a sizable role in the team’s offensive attack this year, whether or not Newton earns the starting quarterback role or not.
