The New England Patriots have improved to 2-1 on the season thanks to a rather convincing 36-20 win over the visiting Las Vegas Raiders Sunday. The theme of the game for the Patriots was a familiar one as head coach Bill Belichick pointed out during his postgame speech in the locker room: complementary football.
“Complementary football,” Belichick told his players per a video shared by the Patriots’ social media team. “Score, kickoff, tackle them inside the 10, get a block in the back penalty, strip sack for a touchdown. That’s what I talk about complementary football: all three units working together.”
Heading into a Week 4 showdown against the Chiefs in Kansas City, the Patriots will need another strong performance in all three phases of the game. Not only are the Chiefs playing at home and as the reigning world champions, they are also 3-0 and arguably the best team in football right now.
