The New England Patriots cruised to a convincing 54-13 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, dominating the game from start to finish. In the aftermath, former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who is now working as an analyst after announcing his retirement earlier this year, offered some simple analysis on social media.
“Take care of the ball, you win,” Edelman wrote on Twitter.
The Patriots have struggled taking care of the football so far this season, turning it over at least once in each game. In total, the team entered the contest with 11 offensive turnovers: the team had lost five fumbles, with quarterback Mac Jones also throwing six interceptions.
There was none of that against the Jets, though. In fact, the Patriots finished with a +3 turnover differential on the day after not turning the football over and registering two interceptions via Kyle Dugger and J.C. Jackson as well as a Josh Uche fumble recovery.
