The New England Patriots are back at .500 for the first time since early September, thanks to a hard-fought 27-24 road win in Los Angeles. They may not have played their best football, but in the end were able to make enough plays to come away victoriously. Now at 4-4, however, another interesting task awaits: the 4-4 Carolina Panthers.
Carolina — with ex-Patriot Stephon Gilmore making his debut and registering a crucial interception — celebrated a 19-13 win in Atlanta on Sunday to snap a four-game losing streak. Along the way, however, the team lost starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a concussion; his status for this week’s game against the Patriots is uncertain.
Given all those circumstances, it is therefore no surprise to see New England head into the game as the betting favorites: the Patriots are currently listed as 3-point road favorites over at DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under has been set at 43 points.
