As was announced by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, golf star Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident early on Tuesday morning.
The crash is still subject to an investigation by the LASD, but the official announcement detailed that Woods was involved in a “roll-over traffic collision,” and had to be removed from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue tools known as “Jaws of Life.”
Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, released the following statement about the 45-year-old (via Golf Digest):
Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.
Also reacting to the news was Julian Edelman. The New England Patriots wide receiver took to social media to share that he would be “thinking of” Woods and that he is praying this would just be “the beginning of another major comeback.”
