Patriots guard Shaq Mason reacts to the Trent Brown trade

New England Patriots starting right guard Shaq Mason seems to be happy about his team acquiring offensive tackle Trent Brown via trade. The long-time lineman took to social media shortly after the news about the move first broke to share a simple yet effective message.

Mason and Brown played together in 2018, the one year the latter previously spent in New England. While Mason filled his usual role, Brown played at left tackle and helped the Patriots win a Super Bowl. While it remains to be seen where he lines up in 2021, adding him to the mix gives New England more depth up front and flexibility to move its talent around.

The Patriots will reportedly send a fifth-round draft pick in 2022 to the Las Vegas Raiders for Brown and will get a seventh-round selection back in return. The 27-year-old will play on a one-year deal worth a maximum of $11 million.
