NFL Draft results 2021: Relive the moment Christian Barmore became a New England Patriot

It did not take long for the New England Patriots to make a big move on the second day of the NFL Draft. New England jumped up the board from the 46th overall selection via trade: Bill Belichick’s team moved up all the way to the 38th overall selection to select arguably the best defensive tackle in the draft.

Christian Barmore was regarded as a potential first-round draft pick due to his impressive upside and ability to disrupt the opposing offense both in the running and the passing game. However, he remained on the board until the Patriots stopped his fall six picks into the second round.

Adding Barmore to the defensive line gives New England another big body at a position that was a major weakness during the 2020 season. The Patriots already addressed it in veteran free agency, but they have now added a young talent to the equation as well.
