For the second time in his legendary career, and for the first since 2018, Tom Brady has made it onto the cover of EA Sports’ Madden NFL video game again. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and reigning Super Bowl champion and MVP will share the cover with his Kansas City Chiefs counterpart, Super Bowl runner-up Patrick Mahomes.

Given that the Madden cover reveal is always a big day around the NFL — players and fans alike are interested to find out who has made it onto the cover — reactions came aplenty. One of them was shared on social media by Brady’s long-time teammate and go-to wide receiver Julian Edelman.

The New England Patriots legend, who announced his retirement earlier this offseason, shared a tweet referencing Brady’s first time in the game. Back in 2000, he was simply called “QB No. 12.” As Edelman pointed out, the seven-time world champion has come a long way since then.
