The New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium will host a memorial service for Kitt, the Braintree Police K-9 that was lost in action on June 4. Kitt was killed during a domestic incident that also resulted in two police officers getting injured and the suspect being shot.

The memorial service for the dog is scheduled for 11 am on Tuesday. While the service inside Gillette Stadium is limited to friends, family and law enforcement, Braintree Police, according to MassLive’s Michael Bonner, has encouraged people to pay their respects on the procession route that will depart from Cartwright Funeral Home in South Braintree at 10 am.

The procession will continue down Washington and Pond Streets onto Granite Street before heading onto Interstate 93. It will move further onto Interstate 95 and Route 1 before finally reaching Gillette Stadium.

The two officers who were injured in the incident earlier this month have already been released from hospital again.
